Jacob and I reported back to the morning show with an interesting story. We went out on an hour ride to Princeton University to cover the P.L.C “aka” Princeton Letterman Club. This story was supposed to be finished in December but due to transportation failures we could not. This only gave us extra time to prepare so that our execution was a lot stronger than our previous stories. Mr. Wilson wanted us to bring out the true meaning of a story and even though we didn’t meet the expectations I feel that we did take a step forward in finding that true meaning. In my next story I need to work on putting the main point of the story in the beginning rather than a minute and a half into it. I understand what I did and I plan to build off of it.

I personally feel we planned well for the forum well for us to have only two days to plan. Prior to the forum we were going to do the football game on thanksgiving but we were stopped by timing. We did a good job bouncing back to create a good story at the forum. One thing that I do feel I need to work on is creating more of a story and not just giving the audience an informational piece to watch. It’s not my greatest work but I do feel that I improved on execution. This was one of my first stories that I edited by myself without any direction from Mr. Wilson so I definitely believe that this is stepping in the right direction. My most recent project taught me a lot about processing interviews and the steps of fully executing it. My story was specifically on why Master P cooked meals for student athletes prior to their game. After asking two key questions I kind of got off track thinking that those specific questions were enough but when I started editing I realized that I didn’t execute this project to it’s fullest potential and it showed. In my next project I will fully execute my topic and bring that interesting story out of it that needs to be shown. I’m starting my planning now and getting everything covered so that when it’s time to shoot I know exactly what to get and when to get it. I know that my upcoming project will be better. This past 3 week cycle Jacob and I initially were going to film the Princeton Letterman Club but due to some issues with transportation we were not able to go to Princeton. It took us some time to find a backup plan but we did. Mr. Wilson gave us an idea that news reporters actually go out and do called “Man on the Street”. After the New Year, Jacob and I went around the school asking students and teachers what their new year’s resolutions were and it came out pretty successful for our first time doing something of that nature. Coming into the new cycle we are resuming the Princeton Letterman story and we feel more prepared than ever. Our outline is complete and we have gotten confirmation from Mrs. Baker that transportation will be available. We have interview questions aligned for specific people and we plan to put together a great story for the morning show. A few things I’ve taken out of this was to always plan ahead! Never stop working on future projects because the future is closer than you think.
